Ethical Influence for Therapists, Managers and Healthcare Professionals
5 Individual Days of Training
Day 1
Increasing Interpersonal Rapport
Whether you are gathering information for a social history,
meeting a new client, or involved in ongoing treatment with an individual, your
level of rapport with them will be one of the most important factors in
treatment effectiveness. Find out why professionals trained in therapy are
usually rated as lower in rapport than untrained individuals. Participants will
receive an overview of “presuppositions” about customers which help to
develop rapport and develop successful working relationships. They will also
learn to develop rapport more quickly, how to “measure” rapport, and learn
new distinctions in non-verbal behavior.
Day 2
Beliefs, Values and Outcomes
Participants will learn to identify the beliefs and values
customers find most important, and to utilize this understanding to help each
customer achieve his or her outcomes. This module will also teach participants
how to establish achievable outcomes that are consistent with the customers’
values and culture. You will also learn the difference between goals that are
just good ideas and goals that involve clear action plans. Additionally
you will begin to develop an awareness of how people are always communicating
their beliefs and values.
Day 3
Introduction to Influential Language
Some people have a natural ability to make people feel better
when they talk with them. If you examine their communications, you will often
find that they are using particular influential language patterns. These
patterns help clients to find closure to their problems, and open the door for
new learning and opportunities. This module teaches how to use influential
language patterns to help clients “get over” their problems and employ their
own resources with optimism. By using subtle changes in your language, you can
learn to help anybody feel more positive with just a simple conversation.
Day 4
States of Excellence
In this training, participants will learn to maintain their
own optimism, energy and curiosity to avoid burnout and exhaustion. Clients want
their therapist to be very alert and comfortable at all times, even when dealing
with many major issues or problems. This training will teach the skill of “state
control” to make this much easier. This skill can also be taught to clients to
help them alleviate symptoms of depression, increase motivation and deal with
difficult situations and people.
Day 5
Tools for Extreme Influence
The greatest gift you can give to your client is to help them
to believe in themselves. This module will teach you advanced language patterns,
called “presuppositional forms” that will help you to create a sense of “hope”
and expectations for success in your clients. You will also learn to
consistently influence clients to act upon their goals and to achieve the
feelings they want through making changes and taking action. This powerful set
of therapeutic tools can also be used to break through denial in addictions,
increase the amount of information accessed during assessments and uncover “hidden
agendas” in your clients.
This training series teaches communicators to be more effective in:
- Quickly developing deeper rapport with potential clients
- Helping quickly identify the client’s perceived reason for services
- Increasing client motivation to complete a development/treatment plan
- Utilizing influential language to keep customers focused and moving
towards completion of their goals
- Increase referral business from customers
