Anger Management Training
This training teaches skills and techniques for handling not only your own anger, but also
gives a multitude of tips and methods for dealing with anger in others. Our focus is on
identifying anger triggers that are unique to each individual, and then learning
and practicing a variety of different techniques for reducing the anger
response. The class meets for two sessions, four hours each on Saturday
mornings, with a minimum of one week between sessions.
The training is spread out over time to allow for practice of the skills
learned, so you can see what is working for you (or your clients) and what it not working. There are a lot of group exercises and opportunities to learn how
YOU can reduce your anger and control your responses.
This training will include:
- Identifying the underlying causes of your own anger, and anger in others
- What anger is, and what does it do to the body
- How to dissociate (or help others dissociate) when anger becomes dangerous
- How to reduce anger about past events
- How to develop anger coping skills
- The variety of anger expressions
- Learning to communicate assertively, not aggressively
- How to use reframing to reduce anger
- Humor and anger

...and more!
