We offer the only classes available in a unique training called, "Human Animal Behavior TrainingSM." (HABTSM)

HABTSM training classes are for coaches, therapists, teachers, counselors, nurses, parents, people - YOU!

We would love to help you learn to effectively enhance and improve peoples' lives - including your own!

These classes are organized and taught completely differently than any other training:

We will teach you the different models used in mindfulness training, cognitive therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), as well as The Radiance Technique®. HABT(sm) training will show you how they all fit together, rather than just teaching you a huge number of isolated "techniques."

Our training is done in mostly two- and three-day seminars.

NLP Practitioner training was once taught in four weeks of intensive training. (The four-week training in 1991 was six days a week, ten hours each day!) This proved to be too long for most people to get away from work, and so attempts were made to reduce the training time to only two weeks. This has resulted in students not having enough time to integrate and utilize the concepts they are learning. Also, principles of adult education have been completely ignored in the development of NLP training - until now!

Our training program is intensely structured and very strategically delivered, and only taught by a very small number of our specifically certified trainers.

You will learn by:
1. Practicing new skills
2. Organizing them into short sequences
3. Using sets of these sequences to achieve specific outcomes
4. Applying the sequences effectively and automatically when needed

Many schools rush you through the learning of a hundred different techniques, but then you graduate without knowing the answer to the most common question NLP graduates STILL HAVE after their training:

"How do I know which NLP technique to use when?" *

* The answer is: Once you understand how the models fit together, you will know how to customize any technique to help your client achieve their outcome.

This site is dedicated to HABTsm-based training and training design services.

History and Principles of HABTSM Training

Each of us has three bodies:

  1. A physical body
  2. An emotional body
  3. A mental body

Our three bodies interact and influence each other all the time.

Example 1:  Mental interacting with Emotional interacting with Physical
We can have a thought (a memory about the past, or speculation about the future), which causes an emotional reaction (positive or negative), which makes our bodies react physically (blood pressure and heart rate change as we experience an emotion).

Example 2: Physical interacting with Emotional interacting with Mental
We can also have a hormone released into our blood stream (adrenaline) due to physical pain, which causes an emotion (“fight or flight”), which causes us to think of a topic or thought that was different previously (“I wonder what caused that damn loud noise?”).

Example 3: Emotional interacting with Physical interacting with Mental
We can be angry (emotional), and have a knot in our stomach and various bodily sensations (physical), and this can interfere with our ability to concentrate or accomplish tasks.  Or, a musician may become anxious (emotional) prior to performance, and perform poorly because of their anxiety causing there to be little blood circulation in their hands (physical), and then they (mentally) decide to never perform again because one performance went badly
.

How they are interacting - and which one is actually leading or starting the sequence tells you which NLP model to utilize!

Human Animal Behavior Trainingsm recognizes that each type of interaction between the three bodies has different characteristics, and needs different “approaches” to produce changes.  This is where modern psychology has completely failed to help people.  Most often, the standard model of “therapy and treatment” applies the exact same approach to each client and each problem.

HABTsm teaches different, very specific techniques for changing a situation where:

  1. One’s mind is steering one astray
  2. One’s emotional reactions are getting off track or are out of proportion to events
  3. Physical sensations and awareness are overly influencing emotions or thinking

The History of HABTsm

Human Animal Behavior Trainingsm (HABTsm) was developed by our President, Mr. Larry Westenberg.  Mr. Westenberg states:

"This system began with three clients in therapy with me that had issues with chronic pain.  I realized that when I asked them, 'How are you?' or, 'How are you feeling?' I needed to be extremely specific about what I was asking.

I began to ask them,

  1. 'How are you feeling today mentally?'
  2. 'How are you feeling today emotionally?'
  3. 'How are you feeling today physically?'

Each of these clients found this distinction extremely helpful, and commented to me about this during sessions, because they realized independently that sometimes one of their “bodies” was out of whack, but most often, at least 2 out of 3 were on board with their larger intentions in life.

I found teaching this distinction to people often had that impact, IF I never specifically mentioned it.  People realized that often 2 out of 3 aspects of themselves felt pretty good, and this improved their outlook and attitude – per their reporting to me.

I think it is important to not “point this out” to the individual.  Let them figure out the (alleged) benefit themselves, as they will believe it much more than if you led them and pointed to the conclusion yourself.

If a simple concept like that tiny distinction of physical, emotional and mental bodies could help some people be happier and more satisfied with life, then I wanted to teach it to everybody on the planet! I believe tiny little changes can stack up or add up to make huge differences in our daily experience of life.

I have helped people via counseling for over 30 years.  I am all about tiny changes that stack up or add up to huge changes quickly.  I don’t need deep and profound breakthroughs in order to help people’s lives get better.  I can do really small and simple things - like help people enjoy broccoli more - and it can change their lives!

Ok, so the enjoying broccoli wasn’t all that life-changing in and of itself.  But I taught this person a way to 're-wire' their motivation, so they could be SERIOUSLY motivated to make a bunch of different changes in lifestyle.  I didn’t just 'do the technique on them,' I instead taught them how to do it for themselves.  That individual gave up drugs, became a personal trainer, and now he helps rich people hold and keep their fitness motivation, because they pay him a lot for that, and he loves doing it! Oh - and he is still very motivated to eat broccoli since he enjoys that also.

For the first time in history, someone is attempting to “prescribe” very simple yet specific techniques for different problems based on whether you are re-aligning your physical, emotional or mental body.  By drawing from the fields of general psychology, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), cognitive therapy and Esoteric Buddhism, HABTsm will teach you a series of techniques that will help produce shifts based on the STRUCTURE of a person’s reactions.  You often don’t even have to know what the “problem” is, and you can STILL get significant changes!

Moreover, you will find yourself quickly teaching the techniques to others when you discover how quickly and easily you can do them with yourself and others.  HABTsm is not a “type of therapy.”  It is simply suggesting changes in the way people think about something.  If they start to license that, advertising agencies and politicians will be in HUGE trouble.

A “HABT Breaker” may invite you to imagine a picture changing, a movie playing, or to otherwise think about something in a new way.  It will not be therapy, just an invitation to try a few different ways of thinking about things.  If improvement or shift is produced, the person involved can choose to think of the memory in the new way.  If it doesn’t feel “right” for any reason, no harm is done and everything goes back the way it was, as both parties keep moving forward to try something else.  In fact, HABTsm participants (they are not clients or patients) are instructed to how to interrupt and immediately un-do a change if it makes them uncomfortable in any way.

HABTsm is a framework for coordinating an enormous number of different “changes in thinking” into an organized catalog you can use with yourself or others to help change your experience of your physical, emotional and mental worlds.

The Three Levels of HABTSM Change

  1. Physical
    1. While we are not a fitness program, it is a simple fact that if you have pain or severe illness, it will impact your daily functioning.  To maintain some degree of physical health can reduce the physical body’s demands and reduce the impact of the physical body on the emotional and mental states.
    2. We have just learned of a recent study that shows 45 minutes per day of MOVEMENT - not necessarily strenuous exercise - but deliberate movement and ANY level of metabolism elevation has been shown to produce massive physical benefits. And this benefit was still present when the movement was broken up into three fifteen-minute sessions a day. Furthermore, the study showed that to gain additional exercise benefits beyond those gained by the 45 minute minimum would require 3 hours or more of exercise!

  2. Emotional
    1. If intense emotions are constantly directing your physical and/or mental bodies, you can cause yourself significant stress and distraction simply by allowing these negative emotions to rum amok. Learning techniques for controlling and directing the energy of emotions can help you regain enormous amounts of energy on the physical and mental levels.

  3. Mental
    1. There are a huge number of techniques and methods from NLP that are utilized to change how a person thinks.  While the mind is an incredibly complex entity, very little has been written in terms of an “Owner’s Manual” for running a brain.  HABTsm is literally exactly that! It is a manual for running your brain in a way that makes your life more efficient, effective and enjoyable.
    2. Meditation of nearly any kind is also recommended as “training for the mind” in HABTsm.   Meditation has been taught for thousands of years and practiced because of the many benefits for the mind, emotions and body that practice can produce.  Expanding Enterprises recommends the meditation program taught through The Arcane School in New York to any student interested in meditation.

The Radiance Technique® and HABTSM

HABTsm training also strongly recommends anyone interested in self-improvement or therapy study the First Degree Official Program of The Radiance Technique®, and if possible, The Second Degree Official Program of The Radiance Technique®.  Both of these classes are available as part of HABTsm training to facilitate supportive shifts and integrated changes in all of the bodies.  Both of these classes can be taken independently of any training in HABTsm.

We are working to offer Transcendental Meditation® or TM® classes from an authorized TM® Instructor in the near future as well.

Additionally you may want to check out "Heart Rhythm Meditation."

The rest is available via the Human Animal Behavior Training program itself!
